General terms and conditions
ARTICLE 1: PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION
These rules set out the general conditions for enrolling in courses, as well as the rights and obligations of students at the ECOLE MODERNE DE SECRETARIAT ET DE LANGUES.
ARTICLE 2: ADMISSION
Admission is considered definitive once enrolment has been validated by the Ecole Moderne management and payment has been made according to the methods chosen on the enrolment form (reverse).
ARTICLE 3: PAYMENT
Payment is by cash, bank transfer or credit card.
ARTICLE 4: CANCELLATION BY THE STUDENT BEFORE THE START OF THE COURSE
If the student cancels before the start of the course, the registration fee of CHF 50 remains payable.
For any cancellation by the student less than 72 hours before the start of the course (no refund is possible).
ARTICLE 5: TERMINATION DURING THE COURSE
Withdrawal from the course does not give rise to any reimbursement - even partial - of tuition fees.
In the event of a student having to withdraw from a course for medical reasons or force majeure, the school management may examine the situation on a case-by-case basis. The Ecole Moderne de Secrétariat et de Langues reserves the right not to keep a course open.
ARTICLE 6: CERTIFICATES AND DIPLOMAS
No certificates or diplomas will be issued in the event of :
- non-payment of full course fees
- attendance rate below 80%.
Enrolled students undertake to attend classes regularly, to keep to the timetable and to notify the School of any absence or withdrawal for reasons beyond their control.
Students receiving a CAF cheque of at least 750 CHF undertake to take the DELF exam at the end of their course.
ARTICLE 7: THEFT
L'Ecole Moderne accepts no responsibility for theft or damage to property that may occur on its premises.
ARTICLE 8: PAYMENT
Students agree to abide by the Ecole Moderne rules posted in the classrooms.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in the student being excluded from classes or from the school by decision of the school management.
ARTICLE 9: ELECTION OF LAW AND PLACE OF JURISDICTION
The contractual relationship between Ecole Moderne and students is governed by Swiss law.
The parties agree to resolve amicably any dispute that may arise concerning the application or interpretation of the present contract. If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, the parties will submit it to the courts. The place of jurisdiction shall be Geneva.
